Mercy Malaysia Donation

Image
Date: 30/4/2018 Venue: Mercy Malaysia Activities: As mentioned in the previous post, we intended to make some charity donation with our remaining profit.  Few of our members actually recommended us to donate the fund to Mercy Malaysia and several other NGO for good purposes. After some research, we found out that actually Mercy Malaysia would be the best choice as the projects they are working on are meaningful yet create an impact among the society. We are more than glad to be able to make our donation to Mercy Malaysia. We went on a journey to Mercy Malaysia on 30th of April to make a short visit while donating the fund. The HODs and I were pleased to know that our fund will be in good use for Mercy Malaysia after their brief presentation about their projects. They even suggested us with future partnership to carry out some volunteering in UM.

An important update is that our main event had changed to be cooperating with Intel for their event. We are no longer going to have a workshop in our faculty, yet we took up the change to work with Intel. This decision was sudden, yet all of us agreed to take up this event as our event activities and aim were quite similar. We were glad to host the event as we get trained by the professionals and the event gave an larger impact which is what we were looking for. Movie night!!!!!!!

Date: 15/3/2018 Venue: Dk2, FSKTM Activities: After fundraising, movie night is another important event to raise the fund. A lot of work and efforts were poured into this night.  Before fundraising, we went to buy drinks, ingredients and materials needed. Personally, I went for price surveying for 3 times! And I went for materials and ingredients buying for twice. Unfortunately the all places I went didn't sell popcorn even though we did research before even going.  We faced problem such as booking the Dewan Kuliah 2, changing of date, postponing along the way and also we couldn't find any popcorn. I had to thank our project manager who found popcorn when he was shopping with his friends and bought us 100 packets of it.  TASK DURING MOVIE NIGHT (Basically what cinema workers do) 1.     Ensure all audiences buy ticket before entering. 2.     Self-brought food and drinks are not allowed. 3.  ...

Briefing day

Image
Date: 12/3/2018 Venue: MM6, FSKTM Activities: Basically, all the members were gathered this day to exchange information between departments. Another aim for this gathering was to update everyone about all of the activities that we are going to carry out. All along, we had been discussing in our respective department, and we thought that we need a day so that we can have connections and understanding among departments. Hence, cooperation of the department can be made more smoothly. What we did: - Each HOD, gave a short description about what the department had done. - Dr. Su and Shawn updated us about the flow of the events and important details for the events. Actually, today was also the start of fundraising by food selling, but I thought to compile all the fundraising in another post.

HOD meeting again

Date: 6/3/2018 Venue: Dr. Suraya's office Activities: All HoD and Vice HoD were asked to have a short meeting in Dr.Su's office. We gathered to discuss a few matters and Dr. Su updated us with few details that need to be added in respective proposals. This meeting was mainly served as a checkup so that we are ready for all documents required to the main office in faculty. We confirmed about the dates, venue and lastly the tentative of the workshop.  The short meeting was great as we seldom being gathered together physically to discuss all of the details. All of us understands each others tasks  and responsibilities. With that, we were prepared to handle the upcoming events.
